Van Dulst Techniek is showing a new form of robotic loading at TechniShow. This involves the processing and handling of length profiles and the automatic free loading of difficult-to-handle aluminum or steel products.
A labor shortage and the pressure to increase labor productivity has prompted van Dulst Techniek to think about even more efficient production. Further automation of the CNC machines with automatic loading systems, feed transport and positioning was already offered. As of about two years ago, van Dulst Techniek is in the process of automating the previous process as well.
The introduction of industrial Robots equipped with a support arm with grippers or with vacuum cups gives the possibility to handle profile material. These are generally presented stacked on pallets or crates. In an innovative way, a 3D Vision "vision" system is linked to the Robot control. Automatic recognition indicates how the profiles are stacked and in what order they can be handled. Layer by layer, the profiles can be picked and automatically placed on the supply warehouse.

Little manpower is involved. The full pallets or crates only need to be placed in the loading plane, after which the installation and machine handles the operations fully automatically. This missing link provides complete automation of the entire production process. Input of production data is possible with the MPS control software. This fully automatic installation will be running at the TechniShow to illustrate the new possibilities in the field of fully integrated production solutions.
