TechniShow 2024 had a broad content program. There were several pavilions, squares and streets, knowledge sessions in the theaters and on the show floor you walked along on one of the guided tours.
Below is an overview of the activities during TechniShow 2024.
The official opening of TechniShow was on Tuesday, March 12 from 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. with leading experts from various sectors and companies. The speakers were Willem Wensing (Manager Partnerships FME), Mark Helder (chairman Koninklijke Metaalunie), David Kemps (Sector Specialist Industry at ABN AMRO) and Eddo Cammeraat (chairman of trade association FPT-VIMAG). In addition, two more captains of industry spoke: Jan Aalberts of Aalberts Industries and Geert Ketelaars of Andra Tech Group. All this was under the direction of branch manager FPT-VIMAG/NEVAT Ires Veerman.
For those who wanted to dive deeper into specific topics, several guided theme tours were organized. These tours, led by experts, guided visitors through the exhibition floor and offered insights into the latest technologies and innovations within various fields.
3D printing was one of the main themes in 2024. At one large Additive Manufacturing Theme Square in Hall 11, you saw not only inspiring applications and business cases, but also the whole process. After all, 3D printing is not a stand-alone solution but part of the whole manufacturing process. Post-processing, with the machines and technology that were elsewhere at the fair, is an essential part of the AM process.
Unique at a trade show: during TechniShow, exhibitors set up a real factory. Nine different parties from production technology set up an integrated production automation. Visitors made their way to theManufacturing Automation Theme Square in Hall 10all the steps of a modern manufacturing environment. At the end of the "factory tour," visitors actually saw a product made live.
The Start-up streetwas the perfect place to meet start-ups and scale-ups and their groundbreaking ideas and innovations. In addition, on the Career Street (same street) you found parties where doors opened and opportunities were created. Whether you were at the beginning of your career or wanted to feel a breath of fresh air in a new sector, this was the place where your future began.
Here members of industry associations came together to exchange knowledge and share insights with each other. It offered the opportunity to interact with representatives from various sectors. The theater adjacent to the Brancheverenverenigingenplein hosted the official opening of TechniShow and the Awards Show.
The hydrogen racing car of the Forze Hydrogen Racing Team, built by several generations of TU Delft students, was on display at TechniShow 2024 (with a few team members).
Project MARCH is a TU Delft student team that uses an exoskeleton, or motorized suit, to allow people with spinal cord injury to get up and walk again. Project MARCH was present at TechniShow to showcase the self-balancing model developed last year here.
During TechniShow 2024, three nominated exhibitors had a chance to win the Innovation Award. The presentation of this award was on Thursday, March 14 at 3:30 p.m. at the Theater next to the Trade Associations Square (Hall 11). The professional jury received the nominees on stage and the final winner was announced
The strength of the combination of TechniShow and ESEF Maakindustrie was that it brought 'make' and 'buy' under one roof. Hundreds of exhibitors at TechniShow and ESEF Maakindustrie showed how the manufacturing industry continued to innovate.
In the Chain Theater at ESEF Maakindustrie, BLMC invited experts who showed how you could make your manufacturing company more efficient, profitable and successful. We addressed topics such as productivity improvement, inventory optimization, chain cooperation and the design of your production network. There were interesting case studies and contributions from expert knowledge partners.
From the show floor, you attended this year's live broadcast of TechniShow Talks. In the theater next to the industry association square, editor-in-chief Henk van Beek presented two shows on current topics. Together with three guests, he discussed all the ins and outs about Personnel shortages in the manufacturing industry and Innovations within production automation.
Dymato chose a whole new format at TechniShow 2024 this year: without machines. "We focused much more on our total solution for the customer's process. That's a different solution for every customer," says Werner Meijer, director of Dymato for several months now. The supplier of CNC machines from Röders, Hyundai-Wia and Mitsubishi, among others, did place a crowd puller on the stand: the Hyundai i20 WRC rally car i20 with an engine delivering as much as 350 hp.
