Segments

TechniShow 2024 is all about smart, sustainable solutions, with the most important developments being: 3D printing, automation and sustainability, which ultimately lead to a more efficient and effective production process.

With running machines, demonstrations, substantive sessions and networking moments, supply and demand come together in a unique way at TechniShow.

All exhibitors are linked to segments, which we highlight one by one below. View the specific segment page to see which exhibitors are present per segment.

This is an innovative approach to design, technical design and production, also known as 3D printing. Additive Manufacturing involves adding material to form a product. The first application of this is ‘Selective Laser Melting’ (SLM), in which thin layers of metal powder are placed on a construction platform. A laser then melts the cross-section of the intended product, and this process is repeated until the product is completely built up.

Essential aspects of production technology include measurement and observation. Measuring technology and vision are not only the core of quality, but also of safety. By measuring we mean not only dimensions, shape, position and tolerances, but also variables such as quantity, mass, weight, temperature, pressure, speed, humidity and emissions.

The term ‘sheet metal’ refers to various non-machining techniques that, depending on the intended product and the material used, are applied to process a metal sheet, either by shaping or separating. Different techniques may be required for each stage of the process.

Machining is an umbrella term for specific methods of material processing that remove material in a way that leads to the formation of “chips”. Machining is used to give shape and sometimes even direct functionality to a piece of material.

This technique can be used for both individual specimens and for both small and large series.
